Job Description:

The CNN Digital Design System Team is part of the Content Platforms team, focused on building the next-generation platform powering CNN on all digital surfaces. The team builds and scales a cross-platform web, mobile, and video design system called Vossi, which is in hyper-growth mode. The Staff Product Manager will deliver the design system as a foundational capability for all product development teams, partnering across the organization to ensure consistent identity, streamline development through reuse and standards, ensure top performance, and support new experiences. Responsibilities include managing the roadmap, driving adoption, evolving the product based on feedback and technology advances, collaborating with architecture, engineering, and design teams, maintaining and evolving the design system, transforming vision into strategy and roadmap, setting performance metrics and OKRs, creating UI kits and documentation, advocating for the design system, gathering and prioritizing requirements, managing risks and progress, partnering with UX leads on visualization standards, conducting market analysis, and evangelizing the platform across CNN. Qualifications include 7+ years in product management or engineering (4+ years in product management), technical understanding of design systems, experience with tools like Figma, zeroheight, Jira, Confluence, knowledge of UI/UX and accessibility standards, experience with change management and governance, rolling out new tools, working with distributed teams, excellent communication and facilitation skills, SCRUM/Agile experience, ability to build consensus, strong work ethic, quick learning, and preferred experience in news and information industry.
